I love the creativity that went into putting this outfit together! The silver strappy sandals complement the bold print skirt and match her chunky silver ring and pendant necklace. I accidentally had my camera set to manual focus (an amateur photographer’s worst nightmare) and coincidentally the camera chose to focus on her shoes!

I just fell in love with this woman’s look – I sort of picture myself looking like this at her age….one can only hope! Her choice of crimson for lipstick and nails as well as her stunningly beautiful jewelry (of which I wish I had better close ups) made her stand out from the crowds on Davie Street. One word – striking!
This is a woman with amazing style and an amazing motto: just because you are a senior, doesn’t mean you have to dress like one.
Although we don’t typically do pairs, I couldn’t pass up on this dynamic duo. Her bold prints next to his muted tones made for the perfect balance. Bill and Vonnie worked in the film industry for several years and were no strangers to the camera – they were more than happy to pose for me. These two were full of energy which they attribute to their jive dancing classes – it seems to be working for them….they look great!
I hurried after this woman as she left the Bay, keeping her red shoelaces and hip sneakers in my sightline. Although you can’t quite see the detail here, her Keds are playfully decorated with cartoon drawings. She told me that she walks a lot and so practical shoes are a must. I agree!
This woman is kickin’ it old school in light denim head to toe. She told me she has lived in San Francisco for most of her life and now resides in the gorgeous Buena Vista Terrace, an old Christian Science church converted to seniors housing on Haight Street. She’s seen the neighborhood change from hippy haven to a post card of the past.
In a recent article about Granpaparazzi in the Globe and Mail, I talked about how hard it was to find seniors in fashionable footwear. I spoke too soon! A few weeks ago I was down in Portland, Oregon and I spotted this woman’s incredible legs from a mile away! Rocker through-and-through.
The magnolias are in bloom, the sun is shining and this woman is going the distance to make the day brighter! Great red shades and notice how the red patent leather shoes match the bag perfectly? But it is the wide-leg plaid pants that add an extra layer of complexity to this outfit that makes it great.

This couple just looked too wonderful for me to let them walk past me without taking their picture. Notice that they each have polka dot print shirts beneath their blazers. Very charming.
