The double breasted navy blazer, white sun hat and sneakers definitely give this ensemble a nautical feel. However I like the way the big dark fashion sunglasses and bright red beads keep the look quite urban.

A smart and playful look – peach pants, orange socks, white shoes and a black hat. You wouldn’t think they would look great together, but they do!

This would-be chic sailor was walking the seawall when I spotted him in the distance. As I took his picture a woman on a near by bench asked, “Have I seen you on TV?” I think we can all agree, with fashion like this, Angelo certainly looks famous. I adore his head to toe white, stripes and suspenders!

I just fell in love with this woman’s look – I sort of picture myself looking like this at her age….one can only hope! Her choice of crimson for lipstick and nails as well as her stunningly beautiful jewelry (of which I wish I had better close ups) made her stand out from the crowds on Davie Street. One word – striking!

After speaking with this colourful gal, I quickly realized that her bold style choices matched her personality perfectly – she’s energetic and full of life.
Asking what her style inspiration was, she explained that she followed ‘What Not to Wear‘ for about five seasons and that she learned the importance of including “one piece that pops”. Well it worked because the first thing I noticed was her bright green bag. Such superb and fun style!

This centuries-old style never gets old. Pure silk in huge bursts of color? Possibly the best clothing tradition ever.
For a textile feast, look through Rokko Fabrics or Guru Bazaar on Fraser Street. Delicious.

I absolutely love this woman’s look – casual, hip and comfortable. She could be on a stroll to the farmer’s market or going to brunch with friends (in actuality I believe she was taking her grandson for a walk). Very reminiscent of the post casual chic.

This colourful woman caught my eye on the way to the bus stop. Her orange scarf is a great accent to her gorgeous head of hair.

This guy looked too cool in his straw hat and shades for me to let him pass by. He also sports an old leather backpack that matches his brown loafers and cane. A lovely end of summer outfit.
