Love

I switched cameras for a day and it’s a pity that this image wasn’t as crisp and sharp as the summer breeze that should have been blowing through lovely Mary’s hair. Really, it was in a mall, with no flash. But her dress, 1960′s work wear, is as sharp as the day she bought it, years ago.
She told me she puts her hair in curlers each night and styles her 1950′s do herself.
When I walked away from taking this photograph, all I could say to myself was “love, love, love.”
She is ridiculously cool. Look at the details — red toenails, blond streak through the hair. I wonder what the ring on her index finger is about. It’s pretty non-traditional for this age group.
She makes getting old look dignified. Great photo.
